Over the last year or so, Amie Blu has earned her stripes with widespread acclaim for her independent EPs (crumbs in my bed, 5 for U), plus live shows ranging from Mahalia Presents, Meltdown and Glastonbury festivals to a sold-out London date at The Courtyard Theatre. Aged 21 and based in South East London, her work is as tender and introspective as it is straight-talking and frank. Expressing charged situations like ‘something will give’ also make Amie Blu an increasingly rare kind of artist: music that’s completely of the moment, but also commands time and attention.
