Deyaz
Deyaz is far beyond the conventional boundaries of a typical artist. Rather, he is a genre-less musical prodigy with an innate ability of turning painful situations into exceptional art. Raised in East London and of Jamaican/Syrian heritage, he learned to play the guitar at 13 by ear, listening to bands like Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains. Battling homelessness at times and a mental health crisis for parts of his young adulthood, Deyaz managed to squeeze his way into the rock and grunge scene by engineering for several artists and drumming for a variety of bands. Eventually, he earned a coveted scholarship at London’s Guildhall music program, but soon dropped out to focus on music full time. Ultimately, after releasing a series of his own music on Soundcloud, he was discovered and signed to Sony UK, and released his debut project, ‘WHY NOT.’ The project has since garnered over 10M streams and included the Heartfelt ‘Don’t Leave, Don’t Go.’ He also performed his single, ‘Bleed’ on BBC’s critically acclaimed show LATER WITH JOOLS HOLLAND.
